Continuing Medical Education

At the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society (NJPMS), we understand the importance of continuing medical education (CME) in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professional development. To meet state licensing requirements, New Jersey podiatrists are required to complete a specific number of CME credits every two years. This ensures that practitioners remain current with the latest advancements in podiatric medicine, surgical techniques, and patient care standards.

The current CME requirements for podiatrists in New Jersey include:

  • 100 CME credits over a two-year licensure cycle of which 40 CME credits are from live in-person events.
  • A portion of these credits must be earned in specific areas, such as End-of-Life/POLST and opioid management, in alignment with state mandates.
  • A mix of in-person and online learning options are acceptable, offering flexibility to busy professionals.
